Developing CHIME in South Africa

This project is working to co-develop a Community Health Intervention through Musical Engagement (CHIME) to reduce anxiety and depression symptoms in pregnant women in South Africa. We are working with local partners at the Perinatal Mental Health Project and the Alan J Flisher Centre for Public Mental health at the University of Cape Town.

We worked with Mentor Mothers at One to One Africa to develop a series of songs designed to promote maternal mental well-being which could be used for a CHIME intervention within the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
